Marlene Gray is principal of Museum Services Associates, a firm that consults on exhibit concept and development, writing, research, strategic planning, and project management. She is a graduate of Harvard University where she concentrated in the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East and Fine Arts. She has worked as a staff member in several museums; since 1989 has worked with clients and institutions, such as the Beverly Historical Society, Town of Methuen/State of Massachusetts Dept. of Environmental Management, Harvard University Semitic Museum (archaeology of the Ancient Near East), Higgins Armory, Lexington Historical Society, Immigrant City Archives, Friends of the Museum of Printing,, Museum of Northern Arizona, and others. Her experience includes object photography and work with databases. She also specializes in photographic and historic research for exhibits. Recently,she completed a history of the Devens family of Charlestown MA, from 1720, that was commissioned by the family. In 2008, she was a speaker at the Master's Degree Museum Program, Museion, at the University of Goteborg, Sweden.

Historic Newspapers

Archive of Americana - historic newspapers online from 1690 -1876 by Readex is available through some libraries from your computer.  For example, Massachusetts residents with a Boston Public Library Card number can access this archive online for free, read, download and print.

Proquest Historical Newspapers is available online through remote connection through library databases.  It features major newspapers such as New York Times, 1851-2004, Chicago Tribune, 1849-1986, and Los Angeles Times, 1881-1986 that have been scanned by each page.
